I had the idea that it might be neat to rig up some vaguely swanky-looking homemade track lighting by suspending some bright white LEDs from some kind of ceiling assembly

I want to plug this hypothetical setup into the wall -- no battery power.

Electronically speaking, what will I need to accomplish this?
